                        Professional Development Division 
     Instruction designed to accomodate neccessary studies for the continuing educational development of professional musicians. Lessons may taken on an instrument, voice, conducting, arranging, composition, theory and harmony and music technology. New Jersey Depatrment of Education Professional Development Provider certifies our school for public school teachers work towards 100 hours of continuing education credits.



                           College Preparatory Division    
     Intensive program to prepare students for college acceptance examinations and auditions to music departments. Includes private lessons, theory and harmony, music history, ear training/sight singing and keyboard proficiency. All are necessary preparations for college music programs. Concentraion will be on the student's instrument of choice and their areas of deficiency.

                                Private Lesson Division    
      Private instruction on all instruments and voice for all ages and abilities. Lessons are designed to meet individual needs, desires and time constraints.  Level of lesson intensity at which the lesson is approached is geared to student age, talent, goals and availability of practice time.

                                                      STAFF
     
Music teachers are trianed in teaching strategies and teaching techniques by the school and all follow the school curriculum. There are approximately 40 instructors with degrees in music most having advanced graduate degrees and are experienced teachers and performers. Each instructs on their specialty instrument.
     Department Chairpersons and Directors provide direction, guidance and assistance to the teachers in maintaining high teaching standards and insuring the learning progress and development of the students.
     Office personnel assist students and parents with lesson appointments, tuition payments and administrative duties.

                        ACCEPTANCE TO PRIVATE LESSON DIVISION   
     Students are accepted on a continuing enrollment basis throughout the year. Lessons are encouraged through the summer months for continuity and progress. All students interested in applying to the school must call to make an appointment for an interview with the director of the school. If the student already plays an instrument please bring their instrument and music to play a small selection of their choice. The audition is simply diagnostic so please feel relaxed. If the student has an instrument but does not play please bring it for assessment of appropriateness for the student. If the student has never studied music and does not have an instrument he or she will be tested for talent, musical aptitude, ability, readiness and desire to study a musical instrument or voice. Interviews must be conducted with the parents present.

        Application Fee: $25                      Time: Approximately 45 minutes

                                          TUITION
Private Lessons
- $32 per half hour.
Discounts apply to more than 30 minutes per week and additional family members. 

Ensembles - $250 per year, $100 per year for second ensemblefor same person, and $150 for additional family members. Scholarships to families that take 120 minutes of private weekly lessons.
